Why hire a professional organizer?
If a water pipe breaks in your house, you hire a plumber. If you need a ceiling fan installed, you hire an electrician. If you can’t park in the garage because there is too much clutter, it’s time to hire a professional organizer. Working along side a professional is more fun than trying to tackle the job yourself. A professional organizer analyzes your needs, space, work style and personality. They provide ideas and customized solutions to help you regain control over your time, space and paper. A professional organizer helps you achieve new habits that contribute to increased productivity and decreased stress.
What is the cost?
Having lots of clutter and being disorganized costs much more than hiring a professional organizer. According to a study conducted by a Boston marketing firm, the average American burns 55 minutes a day – roughly 12 weeks a year – looking for things they know they own but can’t find (Newsweek 6/7/04). When hiring a professional organizer, you control the costs because you decide the scope of each task. Many factors need to be considered, including how much you wish to do on your own and how quickly you can make decisions as many can only be made by you. The investment of hiring a professional organizer pays back almost immediately with less stress and more time to do the things you love. Most professional organizers in the Atlanta area charge $45 - $125 per hour. Ultra Organized charges a competitive hourly rate; three hour minimum work sessions are scheduled.
I have such a busy schedule. How do I find the time to meet with a professional organizer?
It does take time to get organized, but staying organized is very easy to do, once the systems are in place and the skills learned. Many people desire less clutter but feel overwhelmed when thinking about where to start, and keep putting off the task. Working with a professional organizer can be fun because the results are immediate.
I am so embarrassed by the state of my mess and am concerned what the professional organizer will see. Will my sessions be kept confidential?
Members of The National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) treat all their work strictly confidential and adhere to a strict Code of Ethics. We understand your need for privacy and are aware of the high level of trust placed in us. Our non-judgmental approach will make you feel comfortable and in no time you will be proud to show your home to family, friends, and colleagues.
What is NAPO?
The National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) was founded in 1985 as a nonprofit professional association offering ongoing education and professional development to its members. NAPO members make a commitment to abide by a set Code of Ethics to observe high standards of honesty, integrity, confidentiality, and responsibility. Members of NAPO are professionals who care about customer satisfaction and sound business practices. Members of the Georgia chapter have a directory of organizing resources and are connected to a network of specialists with valuable resources to share.
NAPO Code of Ethics
This Code of Ethics is a set of principles to provide guidelines in our professional conduct with our clients, colleagues, and community. As a member of the National Association of Professional Organizers, I pledge to exercise judgment, self-restraint, and conscience in my conduct in order to establish and maintain public confidence in the integrity of NAPO members and to preserve and encourage fair and equitable practices among all who are engaged in the profession of organizing.
