A Local Member of the National Association of Professional Organizers Strengthens Skills at NAPO’s Annual Conference

Local professional organizer, Dawn McCloskey

Organizers (NAPO) President, Standolyn Robertson, returned recently from NAPO’s
2009 Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida, where she enhanced her professional
organizing skills and learned about the newest organizational products on the market.
The Conference was kicked off by Scott McKain, motivational speaker, and author of three books. Through his personal stories, he shared what customers really want versus what they receive; ultimately, they want a wonderful experience that is personally focused versus product focused.
McCloskey was excited about the opportunity to network with 700 other organizers who shared her passion for helping people make beneficial changes in their lives. “Attending the NAPO Conference was a great way to invest in myself and my company,” said McCloskey. “I attended many sessions including: the challenges faced when working with chronically disorganized clients and those with special needs; how to keep clients on track with their goals; and my favorite session – how to unpack a house in three days or less. It was four days of intense learning and networking.” There was also an expo where organizers could see the latest products and talk face to face with leading companies in the industry about services geared towards solving clients’ organizing dilemmas.
